Solving Life’s Problems
Life’s Two Big Problems
Most people view life as a routine. They perform the same tasks daily without being satisfied. They are seeking meaning and fulfillment in their routines. The problem is that they don’t know how to start.
The bigger problem is that many people spend too much time learning the wrong things. This is more than just a costly mistake. It can be damaging to yourself as well as to others. For example, you can learn how to use a knife to cut your food so you can eat. You can also learn how to use a knife to stab people in the heart. In the second case, you would have been better remaining ignorant.
We believe that if you want to be smart and be considered smart, you must be moral. History has taught us that there have been and still are too many smart people who are immoral. One of the key concepts we emphasize in our lessons is that your actions speak more loudly than knowledge.
Breaking the Stupidity Trend
We define stupidity as a result of two factors:
· Learning the wrong things or performing repeatedly the wrong actions as a result of that knowledge
· A lack of motivation or desire to learn the right things
Thus, stupidity is the result of conscious, voluntary choices. If your brain does not physically work, you are not stupid. You cannot learn, no matter how hard you try. Similarly, if you have never learned a certain topic, you are ignorant, not stupid.
Sadly, we see too many stupid people in leadership positions. They may be heads of major organizations, teachers, or leaders of nations and countries. These leaders use their power to convince the public that their actions and decisions are smart and correct. The public buys into the idea, and the stupidity chain has just gained a few more supporting links.
The Solution
If you’ve seen the movie Forest Gump, you may recall the famous line, “Stupid is what stupid does.” A similar statement can be said about smart actions. There’s no reason why such a large part of leadership should have so many “dummies.” We believe that you can be one of the smart leaders of the world. Truthfully, it doesn’t take a tremendous genius to be a leader; just someone who knows how to think, do, and say the right things. Seriously, wouldn’t the world be a better place if it were a smarter place? You can be a part of the solution by starting your journey today with Moral Learning!
